Selena Gomez told fans that she needed to “spend time on herself” when she cancelled her Australian and Asian tour last week, and now, a source claims the singer has been left badly “affected” by her split from Justin Bieber earlier this year, even prompted her family to get involved.
The 'Slow Down' singer surprised fans last Friday when she announced that the next leg of her 'Stars Dance' tour in Australia and Asia had been completely scrapped for personal reasons, with Selena revealing that she needed time out for herself. While the exact nature of the cancellation remains shrouded in mystery, an insider claims that Selena's highly-publicized split from Justin, 19, earlier this year is to blame.

“Dealing with her breakup from Justin has still been affecting her and she’s been in a bit of a bad place recently,” the source told Radar Online.
“Her family stepped in and basically advised her to either go to therapy or stay with them so they could watch over her. Her team agreed that family time would be best.”
According to the source, Selena's BFF Taylor Swift will also be on hand to help the former Disney star get herself back on track. “Selena has plans to hang out a lot in the coming weeks with close friends like Taylor Swift. Taylor has been a really good support system for Selena in recent weeks,” they said.

In her statement announcing the scrapped tour dates, Selena said: “My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them. But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be.
"To my fans, I sincerely apologise and I hope you guys know how much each and every one of you mean to me.”
The 21-year-old assured fans of her wellbeing over the weekend sharing a photo of herself kissing a small baby with the caption: “I'm the happiest I've been in a while.. So blessed and thankful for the future, for release and to finally be happy for those I loved.”

Meanwhile, Justin recently gushed over his love for Selena admitting that he still cares for her and hopes they'll remain good friends. “I wrote the best music once my heart was broken,” Justin told Power 106.
“'All That Matters' was written when I was in a great place in my relationship, and at that time, she was all that mattered in my life. [The break up] affected us, especially when we are in front of so many people. It's such a public thing. It's just hard for the both of us. But you know, she's a great woman. I love her till this day."
“I think we're going to be the greatest of friends. Right now we're taking a little time and not talking,” he added.
