Last month Bryan Singer and 20th Century Fox announced that an X-Men: Apocalypse movie will be the next X-Men film, and it’ll be hitting in 2016.
While Singer is still finishing up X-Men: Days of Future Past he’s also working on the script for Apocalypse, and told EW that he intends to direct (but it’s not official just yet, negotiations are taking place).
While this summer’s The Wolverine introduced the plot for Past in its final moments, Singer reveals he’s still not sure whether Past will feature an Apocalypse tease. “I’m still deciding that,” he says. “Something that happens in this movie causes what’s going to happen in that movie.”While Singer didn’t give up specific plot points, he did reveal some themes. “It will also address historical mutant-cy, meaning the deep past, mutant origins and things like that. It’s something that’s always intrigued me when we think about our Gods and our history and miracles and powers.”
Apocalypse is an ancient mutant born 5000 years ago. He is awoken from his slumber due to the arrival of the time-traveling mutant Cable, and decides to destroy the world with the help of his Four Horsemen. – See more at: http://filmonic.com/x-men-apocalypse-movie-coming-may-2016#sthash.VCUY0Fdq.dpuf
